Conveying the Message: Powerful and Engaging Presentations (English)

Presenting is an essential part in both teaching and research. Scientific content must first and foremost be presented correctly and precisely. In teaching, it is also important to convey the content in a structured and understandable way so that students can follow it even with little prior knowledge. However, successful structuring, a focus on core statements and good time management are also helpful for presentations at specialist conferences. The most important information carrier in a presentation is the person giving it. PowerPoint slides, prezis, chalkboard, flipcharts and other media are used to illustrate and support the presentation. However, PowerPoint slides in particular are often overloaded with text, distracting from the presenter and making him/her almost superfluous. This workshop provides support in planning a presentation, suitable visualization methods and offers feedback on the individual performance of the participants.
