Competence Based Assessment

Competence-oriented teaching requires competen-
ce-oriented assessment. Precisely formulated le-
arning outcomes are essential in order to do so. As-
sessment at universities can have different purposes,
which in turn place different demands on the way exa-
minations are conducted and evaluated.
Based on the learning outcomes of the participants,
this workshop will look at possible examination for-
mats and discuss assessment and evaluation criteria.
In addition to subject-specific learning objectives,
overarching topics such as the assessment of group
work or presentations can also be discussed.
Finally, the workshop offers a glimpse on the potential
of AI tools as an aid in the creation of competence-ori-
ented examinations.

ATTENTION: In preparation, participants are asked to
review didactic basics and bring pre-formulated lear-
ning outcomes to the workshop.
